Week 3 - Days 3 and 5 (Psychological, Haman)

Psychological
"Haman launched psychological weapons against the Jews, and we find ourselves in the crosshairs of the same weapon in the hands of our enemy who is trying to get back at God by attacking us. Because Satan has a limited leash where believers are concerned, his most powerful tactics are psychological. Though he can't possess our minds, he profoundly and destructively influences our thoughts.
Satan's most effective tactic with yours truly has been to trap me in mental torment." - (page 67)

"That, Beloved, is psychological warfare." - (page 68)

The words "mental torment", as well as the words "torturous self-doubt" she mentions back on page 43 of our study have their own meanings and significance in my life.
For those of you who don't know, I have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. OCD is something physical (lack of seratonin), but I believe there is definitely a spiritual battle within OCD. I believe satan works through intrusive thoughts to attack me and cause me to question my character and who I am as a person. I have extreme self-doubt because of it - to the point of being disabling at times in my life. God has been working in me and I still have a ways to go to get where I want to be, but it is so important to know and believe God's truth over the enemy's lies.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. - Ephesians 6:12

Haman
"Haman didn't rise to the high places because he was stupid. How terrifying to face an evil heart mingled with an exceptional mind." - (page 68)

"A clueless king and a cunning killer make a frightful combination." - (page 77)

"Haman could have desired nothing more than Xerxes' royal ring." - (page 70)
Beth talks about the fact that Haman received the ring.
"In the kingdoms of antiquity, the king's ring was used exactly like his official signature on any document. To give someone your signet ring was to give him carte blanche to use your name on any legal transaction as if the person were you." - (page 70)
